Terms & Conditions

These terms govern your use of the Marketpedia website and everything published on it, including broker reviews, comparison tables, scoring methodology, academies, guides and market news. By continuing to use the site you accept them in full.

If you do not accept these terms, please stop using the site. They are written to be read by a normal reader rather than a lawyer, and nothing in them removes any right you have as a consumer under English law.

Every page on this site is written by the research desk, checked against the regulator's public register before publication and dated so you can see how current it is. Where we quote a cost, a spread or a protection limit, it comes from documentation the firm publishes itself rather than from marketing copy. How this terms & conditions is organised

This document is published in full rather than summarised, because the detail is the point. Each numbered section below covers one subject only, so you can read the part that applies to you without wading through the rest, and every section is written in plain English rather than the compressed legal shorthand that makes policies like this go unread.

We keep the wording current. Where a rule changes, a supplier changes or our own practice changes, the affected section is rewritten and the date at the top of the page is updated with it — we do not leave superseded text in place and rely on you not noticing. If any part of this page is unclear, the desk answers questions on it directly and will explain the reasoning behind a clause rather than simply quoting it back.

Nothing on this page is financial advice and nothing here creates an advisory relationship. Marketpedia publishes independent research and education about brokers and markets; decisions about where you open an account and what you trade remain entirely your own, and leveraged products carry a real risk of losing more than you expect.

Use the quick links below to jump straight to a section, or read the page from top to bottom — it is short enough to do in a single sitting.

1

Who we are and what this site is

Marketpedia is operated by Marketpedia Research Ltd, an editorial publisher registered in England and Wales with its registered office at 37th Floor, 1 Canada Square, Canary Wharf, London E14 9XQ. References to we, us and our mean that company.

We publish independent research about FCA-authorised forex, spread betting and CFD brokers. We are not a broker, an investment firm, an introducer, a fund manager or a financial adviser. We are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, because publishing editorial commentary about regulated firms is not itself a regulated activity.

We hold no client money, execute no orders, provide no trading signals for payment and never take custody of anyone's assets. If a website, message or social media account claims to be Marketpedia and asks you to send money or share account credentials, it is fraudulent and should be reported to us immediately.

2

No personal advice or recommendation

Everything on this site is general information and editorial opinion published for a wide audience. It takes no account of your income, tax position, existing holdings, experience, objectives or attitude to risk, and it is therefore not a personal recommendation within the meaning of the FCA Handbook.

A high ranking means a broker scored well against our published, fixed criteria on cost, execution, safety of client money and platform quality. It is not a statement that the firm is suitable for you, that its products are appropriate for your circumstances, or that trading with it will be profitable.

You are solely responsible for your trading decisions. Before opening any leveraged account you should read the broker's own risk disclosures and key information documents, verify the entity on the FCA Register yourself, and consider taking independent regulated advice if you are unsure.

3

Risk warning for leveraged products

CFDs and spread bets are complex leveraged instruments and carry a high risk of losing money rapidly. Depending on the firm, between 69% and 82% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading these products. You should consider whether you understand how they work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money.

Leverage magnifies losses as well as gains, and a small adverse move can wipe out a position. Overnight financing accrues daily on the full notional value, market gaps can move price straight through a standard stop-loss, and past performance of any strategy, indicator or broker is never a reliable indicator of future results.

Tax treatment depends on your individual circumstances and can change. Spread betting is currently free of UK capital gains tax for most retail clients, but that treatment is not guaranteed and should not be the sole reason for choosing a product. Never trade with money you cannot afford to lose entirely.

  • Leverage magnifies losses
  • Stops are not guaranteed unless stated
  • Financing accrues on full notional
  • Tax rules can and do change
  • Past performance proves nothing
  • Only risk capital you can lose
4

Accuracy, testing and updates

Our ratings come from live-account testing, register checks and documented pricing observations recorded at a specific time. Spreads move constantly, brokers change fee schedules and product ranges without notice, and permissions on the FCA Register can be varied at any point.

We therefore publish figures as accurate at the date of testing, re-verify licence details quarterly, and correct errors promptly when they are brought to our attention. We do not warrant that every figure is current at the moment you read it, and you should confirm pricing and terms directly with the broker before funding an account.

If you believe something on this site is wrong, email info@marketpedia.co.uk with the page and the detail in question. Substantive corrections are made to the page itself and, where material, noted in the review so readers can see what changed.

5

Acceptable use of the site

You may read, print and share our pages for your own personal, non-commercial use, and quote short extracts with clear attribution and a link back to the original page. That permission does not extend to systematic copying.

You must not scrape, mirror, republish or resell substantial parts of the site, use automated tools that place an unreasonable load on our infrastructure, attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system, introduce malicious code, or misrepresent your relationship with us in any commercial or promotional context.

We may restrict or withdraw access where use of the site breaches these terms, infringes the rights of others or threatens the availability of the service for other readers. Where practical and lawful we will explain why before doing so.

6

Intellectual property and third-party marks

All original text, scoring methodology, comparison tables, design elements, page structure and graphics on this site are owned by Marketpedia Research Ltd or licensed to us, and are protected by copyright and database rights. Our scoring weights and testing framework are our own work product.

Broker names and logos are the trade marks of their respective owners and are used purely for identification and descriptive purposes in editorial coverage. Their use does not imply any endorsement of Marketpedia by those firms, nor any endorsement by us beyond the rating published in the relevant review.

If you believe material on this site infringes your rights, contact us with the specific URL, a description of the material and the basis of your claim, and we will review it promptly and remove or amend anything that should not be there.

7

Liability, third-party sites and links

The site is provided on an as-is basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude liability for trading losses, lost profits, lost opportunity, loss of data or any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of, or reliance on, anything published here.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.

Links to broker and third-party websites are provided for convenience. Those sites are operated independently, have their own terms and privacy notices, and are outside our control. We are not responsible for their content, their products, their pricing or the way they handle your data or your money.

8

Changes, severability and governing law

We may amend these terms from time to time to reflect changes in the law, in regulatory expectations or in how the site operates. The version published on this page at the moment you use the site is the version that applies, and the update date shows when it last changed materially.

If any provision of these terms is found by a court to be unenforceable, that provision is severed and the remainder continues in full force. A failure by us to enforce a term on one occasion is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.

These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. Complaints about our editorial conduct should be sent to info@marketpedia.co.uk, where they are logged, investigated and answered in writing.
