About Callum Reid
Callum edits the newsroom and writes the desk's macro coverage. He reads central bank statements so readers do not have to, and his brief is to explain what a rate decision, an inflation print or a regulatory announcement actually changes for somebody trading a retail account in the UK.
Before joining the desk he covered rates and currencies for a financial wire service, where the discipline was accuracy under deadline. He keeps the same standard here: every number in a news piece is traced back to the primary release, and any forecast is clearly labelled as a view rather than a fact.
Callum is also responsible for the correction policy. When we get something wrong, the page is updated, the change is described at the foot of the article, and the original figure is not quietly deleted.
