Harriet runs the broker research desk and owns the scoring model that every review and ranking on this site is built from. She spent nine years on institutional FX dealing desks before moving into consumer research, and that background shapes the way the desk measures a broker: by what a funded account actually pays, not by what a marketing page promises.
Her working method is deliberately unglamorous. Each firm under review is opened as a retail client, funded from a UK bank account, traded through at least three full sessions and then withdrawn from in full. Spread samples are taken on a fifteen minute cycle across the London, New York and Sydney windows, commission is added per side, and overnight financing is applied so that the published cost figure is the all-in number a real trader would meet.
Harriet signs off every change to the weighting model and reviews any page where a broker's rank moves by more than one place. She does not accept briefings, gifts or paid placement from the firms covered on this site, and she is the point of escalation if a broker disputes a figure we have published.
